OLMC Wins National Award for Paddle with Purpose!



Our Lady of Mount Carmel School & Children’s Center has been selected as one of the twelve recipients of the 2011 Catholic Schools for Tomorrow Award for Innovations in Education. The award annually honors twelve Catholic schools from across the nation that have led the way by implementing exemplary, innovative programs to improve the teaching and learning of their students, faculty, and staffs. Awards will be presented at a special celebration banquet in New Orleans on April 27th.

Thank you so much to all who attended, who helped, who supported our Paddle with Purpose, our children, and our school these last five days and every single day of this year. Paddle with Purpose is a 5-day paddle by kayak throughout the waterways of East Baltimore County. From Our Lady of Mt. Carmel in Baltimore, the principal and assistant principal will Paddle with Purpose to raise funds to create educational opportunities for children. Along the scenic waterways of Baltimore County, Paddle with Purpose will promote the spirit of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, the unwavering commitment of Catholic education, and the beauty of the tributaries of the Chesapeake.

About OLMC

Our Lady of Mount Carmel Elementary School & Children's Center is a school on two campuses that serves children from 6 weeks through 8th grade. With nearly 400 children and 50 faculty and staff, our school reaches deep into the heart of the local community. The academic program is supported by faculty who share the love of learning enthusiastically with the students. Students who graduate from Our Lady of Mount Carmel are prepared academically, spiritually, and socially for the world they encounter. Opportunities at Our Lady of Mount Carmel include athletic teams beginning at age three, music, art, physical education, and technology programs, and service learning and leadership experiences for all children.
